Take inspiration whilst on holiday and immerse yourself in the largest book collections at sea.

For many, a good read is an essential part of a relaxing holiday and there's no better time to indulge this passion than whilst on board with us. You'll find the range of titles available in our beautiful libraries is as impressive as the refined surroundings. So, find yourself a good book, pull up a leather armchair and enjoy some quiet contemplation.

Welcome to the Cunard libraries

There's nothing like losing yourself in a good book at sea, and our libraries provide the perfect comfortable spaces to relax and get absorbed in a new favourite.

Queen Mary 2

Our flagship's library was the largest at sea when it was built, offering incredible ocean views from the very front of the ship. With comfortable seating areas, glossy wood panelling, and rows of beautiful glass-fronted shelves, it's a beautiful spot for a quiet sit down or a book club meeting.

Queen Victoria

Located just off the Grand Atrium, Queen Victoria's library spans two decks, connecting by spiral staircase. Rich wooden tones, golden lighting and a beautiful art deco-style ceiling add to the ambience as you browse and select your perfect holiday read.

Queen Elizabeth

Similar to her sister Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth's library sits on decks 2 and 3 near the heart of the ship, featuring a stunning staircase and a perfect area for book club meetings - not to mention hundreds of beautiful books to choose from.

Queen Anne

Comfortable lounge seating by vast windows invites you to embark on a literary escape or craft your very own next chapter surrounded by sea views. Whether you’re looking to lounge with a literature classic or pen postcards at an elegant writing desk, you can find your haven on Queen Anne.

Borrowing and returning books

Your ship's library will be open from your day of embarkation, for you to explore and peruse. Books are checked out by the librarian and are yours for the rest of your voyage - or until you return it for another. Books need to be returned by the final day of your voyage - if the librarian isn't present, a drop-off box will be available.

A maximum of 3 books can be borrowed per stateroom at a time. We ask that library books are not taken into pools, whirlpools, or off the ship during port days. A charge may be added to your on board account if books are not returned on the final full day of your cruise.

Book clubs on board

A book club will be held on all voyages with four or more sea days with a new book approximately every three months. Check your Daily Programme, and join thought-provoking literary discussions with fellow guests, led by the ship's librarian. Books in the book club are available to hire on board via the library.

Some of our ships have bookshops that sell, among others, book club titles, so you can make as many notes as you wish in your very own copy and take it home as a memento of your voyage. Bookshops are found on deck 3 on Queen Victoria, or, in the case of Queen Mary 2, next to the library itself.
