In the north, in Vigo, the winter months of December to February average around 9°C, whereas in July and August, you can expect a temperature of around 20°C. Such weather means that layers are a good idea when it comes to packing, allowing you plenty of options. Perhaps bring a few tops and shirts, some thin jumpers/cardigans, and a showerproof jacket in case of rain. The price of food and drink in Spain can vary. Barcelona, the capital of the Catalonia region, is one of the more expensive cities. However, even here the cost of a meal is lower than in many other European cities. The key to keeping things affordable, usually anywhere abroad, is to do as the locals do. Try some authentic, tasty tapas at cafes tucked away on side streets. Choose a frosty glass of Spanish cerveza, or local wine, instead of imported. When you’re looking for something sweet, churros from a street vendor, served with chocolate or dulce de leche, will prove extremely moreish. Don’t forget, dining is included on your Cunard voyage, so you can always wait to indulge when you’re back on board.
