Bars and lounges on Queen Victoria
Commodore Club
For a Queen Victoria bar with the best sea views, look no further than the Commodore Club. A sophisticated lounge with picture height windows, the Commodore Club offers ocean panoramas like nowhere else on board. You’ll find this popular bar at the bow of Deck 10, above the Bridge. While a full drinks service is offered, the speciality here is a selection of Commodore cocktails, inspired by seven of our fleet’s most decorated Captains. Canapés are served on early evening visits and the atmosphere here is always one of elegance, with soothing background music courtesy of a live pianist.
Grills Lounge
If you’re staying in Queen Victoria’s Princess Grill or Queens Grill Suites, you’ll have your own private bar to while away an evening in. Reserved purely for guests of these two accommodation tiers, the Grills Lounge can be accessed via a private staircase from Deck 10, or by taking the cloud-motif lift (activated using your Voyage card). Once inside, you’ll find snug sofas and velvety club chairs to curl into as your Grills Lounge bartender mixes up your drink of choice. Coffees and teas are complimentary, but all other drinks are charged per the menu.
Chart Room
Resplendent with its brushed gold accents, the Chart Room’s symmetrical interiors offer a timeless nod to the romance and geometry of Art Deco design. You’ll find this striking bar directly off the Grand Lobby, opposite Steakhouse at The Verandah on Deck 2. It’s a wonderful venue to visit on Gala Evenings when the sight of tuxedo-attired gentlemen and women in evening gowns evokes the spirit of a bygone era. The signature drink selection includes a range of custom cocktails inspired by the Zodiac. Ask the bartender to mix you up your birth sign or defy convention and let your tastebuds choose.
Golden Lion
You’ll find all the warmth and conviviality of a traditional English pub at Queen Victoria’s Golden Lion. With hearty food and beers on draught, a visit here feels just as welcoming as stepping into your local. Relaxed dress is welcome at all times of day, even on Gala Evenings, and there’s live music and pub quizzes to keep you entertained. Well, who doesn’t love a bit of friendly competition? A complimentary menu featuring fish and chips, pie and mash, and our signature Cunard Ploughman’s is available at lunchtimes, while the drinks selection includes a range of Cunard own-brand ales and a choice of Bloody Marys.
Churchill's Cigar Lounge
Named in honour of Sir Winston Churchill, whose penchant for a cigar famously saw him smoke up to ten a day, Churchill’s offers a dedicated space where cigar connoisseurs can light-up in comfort. You’ll find this plush lounge on Deck 10, positioned between the Yacht Club and Commodore Club. Don’t fret if you’ve neglected to pack your own supply, there are plenty of choices to tempt you in the humidor, along with a bar service offering a finely tuned selection of spirits and single malt whiskeys. Sir Winston himself was a regular face on our Transatlantic Crossings and – even now – it’s easy to imagine him here, animatedly putting the world to rights as he indulges his favourite pastime.
Midships Bar
Queen Victoria’s aptly named Midships Bar, located just off the Grand Lobby on Deck 3, specialises in two types of tipple: gin & fizz. Offering a combination of lounge and bar seating (the latter of which fans out like a peacock’s tail feathers) this tucked away venue provides a quiet nook in which to savour a freshly poured drink over conversation. Choose your preference from an array of classic and flavoured gins; our own Cunard 4 Queens varieties included, or perhaps allow the sparkling effervescence of Laurent Perrier Champagne to gently tease your palate. Alternatively, why not plump for one of our gin or champagne based cocktails and enjoy a fresh new take on these two timeless classics. Who knows? You might even discover a new favourite.
Yacht Club
When the rest of the ship is winding down, Queen Victoria’s Yacht Club can always be counted on to keep the party going. Open for Insights talks, choir rehearsals, and dance classes during the day, this nautical themed lounge-bar takes on a whole new persona come nightfall. The home of karaoke and late-night DJs on board, you’ll find the decks spinning at the Yacht Club long after our other bars and lounges have called it a night. Sink into one of the low-slung sofas and tap along to the sounds filling the air or join your fellow revellers on the dance floor, putting all inhibitions aside in true holiday spirit.
Pavilion bar
While night times at Queen Victoria’s Pavilion bar usher in the chance for a stolen moment under the stars, it’s during the day that this poolside retreat really shines. What better holiday feeling could there be than indulging in an al fresco drink as the sun warms your skin? It’s moments like these the Pavilion bar was made for. Be it a cruise of the Mediterranean or somewhere even more exotic, open sky is always within reach here. The drinks selection is equally holiday-ready with beers and wines and a range of No and Low alcohol options. Indulge in the fruity flavours of our Cunard Cooler or the ginger hit of an Atlantic Mist, as you soak up the sunshine in this most serene of outdoor bars.
Winter Garden
Located just off the Pavilion on Deck 9, Queen Victoria’s Winter Garden is the only one of its kind in our fleet, making it a must-visit for a drink on board. Enclosed by a glass atrium, this Mediterranean-style bar and lounge radiates brightness, even on the cloudiest of days. If you want the feeling of being outdoors when you’re indoors, there’s no better place. Light and airy, comforting, and informal, it’s a lovely spot to enjoy a coffee during the day or something even stronger a little later in the evening. Quizzes and live music are regular features here and a full drink’s list, featuring a wide range of speciality martinis, ensures you’ve always got something in your glass to whet your whistle.
