Queen Victoria offers several ways for guests to dine on board. There’s a choice of casual dining venues, such as her Lido buffet, deck grill, and Golden Lion pub, as well as a speciality steak and seafood restaurant called The Verandah. In addition, each accommodation grade on Queen Victoria has an allocated main dining room. These range from the Britannia Restaurant for Britannia Stateroom guests; Britannia Club Restaurant for Britannia Club guests, the Princess Grill Restaurant for Princess Grill guests; and the Queens Grill restaurant for Queens Grill guests.
Complimentary breakfast in bed is available by placing your menu card on the outside of your stateroom door and complimentary 24 hour room service is always available. Queen Victoria also offers guests a complimentary Afternoon Tea each day in the Queens Room and the Lido. Princess and Queens Grill guests can also enjoy a special Grills Afternoon Tea in the Princess Grill Restaurant.
Read our Queen Victoria dining page for more information on these and other eateries on board.
Queen Victoria offers four core accommodation grades, ranging from Britannia and Britannia Club staterooms to Princess and Queens Grill Suites. Britannia staterooms are divided into Inside, Oceanview, and Balcony rooms. These are the smallest of Queen Victoria’s on board accommodation options, but still offer guests generous sized sleeping accommodation as well as a selection of complimentary amenities.
Queen Victoria’s Britannia Club Staterooms are a little larger than her Britannia Rooms. Each of these rooms is equipped with a balcony as standard. Guests staying in Queen Victoria’s Britannia Club Staterooms additionally benefit from a permanently reserved table in the Britannia Club Restaurant for the duration of their cruise.
Our Princess Grill Suites are larger still. These rooms offer you a blend of living and sleeping space, as well as a few additional luxuries, such as the opportunity to dine in the Princess Grill Restaurant, and use of the Grills Lounge and Grills Terrace on board. As with our Britannia Club Staterooms, Princess Grill Suites on board Queen Victoria all come with a generous sized balcony, offering your own private outdoor space directly off your suite.
Finally, Queen Victoria’s Queens Grill Suites are the pinnacle of her luxury accommodation on board. The largest, her Grand Suites, offer you up to 1,555 sq ft of approximate living space, including an extended balcony with outdoor furniture, a large living room, separate bedroom, and your own dining room. All our Queen Grill Suites come with a butler who’ll look after your every need throughout your stay. You’ll also benefit from a complimentary mini bar, stocked with spirits of your choice, and a permanently reserved table in the Queens Grill Restaurant, where culinary theatre is at its finest.

Guests often wonder about what to a pack for a Cunard cruise. You can read more about our packing suggestions in our dedicated packing guide, which includes information on some prohibited items you should avoid bringing on board.
In terms of dress code however, you’ll find our ships, including Queen Victoria, perfectly relaxed and accommodating. The most important thing for us is that you feel comfortable, so we operate a ‘wear what you like’ policy throughout the day and in many of our venues at night too. The only exceptions are our main dining rooms and a couple of our bars after 6pm. At these times, we simply observe a ‘smart’ dress code, which essentially means no shorts, poolwear, or gym wear – all of which are welcome at breakfast and lunchtimes.
On Gala Evenings, of which you’ll usually find one or two on your cruise, we invite you to dress-up in your evening finery for an extra special night of food, music, and entertainment. Attendance at these evenings is completely optional and you’ll still be free to dine in the Lido buffet, enjoy a drink at the Golden Lion pub, or order in room service to your suite or stateroom if you don’t wish to dress up.
Many of our guests, however, look forward to these evenings on board, so you’ll be in great company if you do decide to join in. We publish the theme in My Cunard before you set sail, so you can pack your luggage accordingly. Many guests choose to wear tuxedos, military attire, or ballgowns on these evenings, but a smart suit with jacket and tie, a cocktail dress, or a skirt and top, are perfectly fine too.
Queen Victoria spends much of her year taking guests around the Mediterranean, the Adriatic, the Norwegian Fjords, and Northern Europe.
In summer, she typically bases herself out of Barcelona, Istanbul, or Civitavecchia, where she’ll operate seven- or 14-night cruises of countries such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Turkey, and the Greek Islands. Many of these itineraries also offer calls in Corsica, Mallorca, Malta, or Sardinia.
Queen Victoria also commonly operates loops of the Norwegian Fjords, sailing from Southampton, where she offers guests the chance to see the midnight sun or the Northern Lights, depending on the time of year.
The charming European destinations of Hamburg, Amsterdam, and Zeebrugge (for tours to Bruges) are also frequented by Queen Victoria on her Northern Europe itineraries. These are particularly lovely destinations to visit at Christmastime, when both the ship and the ports themselves are festively decorated for the season.

Absolutely! Children are welcome on board Queen Victoria.
The ship operates age-specific Children’s Clubs where younger guests can get to know fellow cruisers their own age, under the watchful eye of our dedicated Youth Team. These Clubs, called The Zone, run morning, afternoon and evening sessions, offering secure indoor and outdoor play areas for babies, children, and teenagers, equipped with age-appropriate toys, games, and activities.
We also offer a night nanny service on board for parents or guardians of children under 2 years old, who wish to have a child-free meal or drink on board while their children are looked after.
We also host a children’s afternoon tea on board where younger guests can indulge in a special range of sandwiches, mini cakes, and scones. Child-friendly menus are offered in each of our restaurants on board, and self-service areas such as the Lido buffet and deck grill offer many options to please all manner of little palates.

Queen Victoria cruises offer an eclectic entertainment line-up. You’ll find everything from stand-up comedians and magicians to award-winning musicals and pianists on board your ship, giving you a broad range of ways to enjoy your evenings.
The Royal Court Theatre is the place to catch productions from our Royal Court Theatre Company actors and dancers, including some specially adapted performances, exclusive to our fleet of Queens. Other evenings may offer the chance to see a stand-up comedian or another specially invited act take to the stage. From acoustic singers to full-scale orchestras, there’s always something magical to experience.
You’ll also find entertainment throughout the ship, such as our cocktail pianist in the Commodore Club, or our resident Queens Room Musicians performing reimagined versions of classic chart hits in this namesake venue. Other evenings may bring a pub quiz in the Golden Lion or Karaoke in the Yacht Club, where later a live DJ keeps the dancefloor filled until late into the night.

There are many health and safety protocols in place to protect your wellbeing on Queen Victoria.
On arrival in your stateroom, your steward will invite you to watch a short film, explaining the actions you need to take in case of an emergency. They will also point out where your life jackets are stowed in your wardrobe, and the location of your muster station, where you should assemble with your life jacket should you hear the ship’s alarm signal or if told to do so by your crew. The ship is equipped with lifeboats in the extremely unlikely in event that it’s necessary to abandon ship.
The ship is fitted with smoke detectors in all guest rooms and public areas, and we ask that smoking be contained to dedicated areas on board, both for guest comfort and safety.
There’s a fully equipped medical centre on board in the event you require medical assistance while sailing.
You’ll find hand sanitising and washing stations outside of Queen Victoria’s bars and restaurants, which we encourage you to use to help protect yourself and others on board from falling ill while at sea.
