Cruises from Trieste

Trieste Terminal Passeggeri sits in the centre of Trieste, a short walk away from the main square of Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia.

Treiste Airport (Ronchi Dei Legionari)

The nearest airport is Trieste, which is under 30km away from the cruise terminal. Taxis and direct bus routes are available between the two. Travelling this hour-long route is well worth it, as it takes you along the Adriatic coastal road, offering fantastic views.

Alternatively you can get the train: this will take around half an hour and trains leave regularly (2-3 an hour).

Venice Airport (Marco Polo)

Venice's airport is larger and you may find it easier to book flights here rather than Trieste. Venice is 160km away from Trieste cruise terminal (around a two-hour drive). Taxis are available, and buses depart every 30 minutes or so, providing a reliable (and picturesque) travel route. Trains are also available to Trieste, and may save you some journey time.

For both airports, if your cruise fare includes coach transfers for your cruise, your coach will deliver you and your luggage to the cruise terminal with no additional arrangements required.

Unlike many other, larger, port cities, the Trieste cruise terminal is very close to the heart of the city. Once you disembark your ship you can take a short walk and be in the centre of town. Walking routes afford a real taste of Trieste with minimal effort or distance, and unlocks other local transport links with ease.

The terminal itself has a taxi rank, luggage storage, nearby bus connections and is very close to restaurants and shopping, so you can while away some time before you board your ship.
