Royal Court Theatre

On your Cunard Queen, you’ll find a beautiful theatre offering a carefully curated repertoire of shows designed to surprise and delight guests of all tastes and ages, covering everything from cabaret to comedy. While they do tend to be aimed at adults, our shows are family friendly, and children of all ages will be wowed by the spectacular musical and dance numbers in particular.

Many shows include both matinée and evening performances, so evening routines don’t need to be interrupted. And there’s no need to book, so it doesn’t matter if your day changes course and you change your mind. Please note that children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult to enter the Royal Court Theatre.

Cinema screenings

Many of the latest blockbusters and various classic films are regularly screened on board, in different venues. Check your Daily Programme each day for what’s on - you may find family-friendly films on the big screen at the Royal Court Theatre on all ships, and sometimes in the Illuminations theatre on Queen Mary 2.

On Queen Anne, the Pavilion’s retractable glass roof and cinema-style screen makes it a wonderfully versatile venue for enjoying films or live performances in the open air.

Illuminations

One of the many things that make Queen Mary 2 so special is her on board Illuminations theatre. Its spectacular 30-minute shows both educate and entertain viewers of all ages. Explore the night sky and take a closer look at our solar system, star constellations, and learn about space travel. These shows are included in your fare, however you’ll need to book your spot using the My Voyage app, once on board.

Around the ship

On every Cunard Queen, you will find live music wherever you go in the evening. This could be a pianist or harpist in the Commodore Club, a jazz quartet in the Chart room, a folk duo in the Golden Lion Pub or Carinthia Lounge, or the toe-tapping big band in the Queens Room.

Although the environment is 'grown up', it's one in which children are most welcome. In the Queens Room in particular, guests of all ages are encouraged to join in the party on the dance floor.

When you're spending the evening together as a family, there's plenty to enjoy on board. Grown-ups and children alike will be captivated by shows at the Royal Court Theatre, spellbound at the Illuminations theatre, wrapped up in some fantastic stories at cinema screenings, or enthralled by live music.
