Cunard

Debbie, thank you so much for talking to us ahead of your special day! First off, what made you choose Cunard for your Wedding Ceremony?

Dale and I have been together for over 36 years and had already decided we were going to get married at some point this year, but we kept putting it off as it seemed to be a daunting and stressful task to organise. Our Cunard cruise was already booked and whilst looking at trips and packages on the website I saw the wedding package. It looked fantastic and we knew it would be a really special day and a lovely memory for both of us.

So out of our four Queens, why did you choose Queen Anne?

We chose Queen Anne because whilst we have been on several cruises before, I really wanted to experience a Cunard cruise. Then the opportunity arose to do so on their brand new ship, which looks absolutely amazing.

What has the process been like, booking a wedding on a cruise ship?

The process of booking and arranging the wedding was absolutely stress free, so easy.  The planners were lovely: just a few calls and emails. The whole process was tailored to what we wanted. It would have been much more stressful to arrange a wedding at home!

We’re so glad! What are you most looking forward to about the ceremony?

I think it's going to be a unique experience. I’m looking forward to the whole day, from hair and makeup, to being escorted by the bellhop, the ceremony itself, and hopefully raising a glass with the captain. Also the meal later, and not to forget a Champagne breakfast! All the finishing touches: the flowers, bouquet, the cake, everything. I'm sure the whole day will be amazing. We're looking forward to all of it.

What are you most looking to about your Queen Anne voyage?

As the voyage on Queen Anne is doubling up as our honeymoon now, we're looking forward to it all the more. We are both looking forward to a bit of luxury, great food and service; just looking forward to an overall great cruise.

Have you sailed with Cunard before?

We have never sailed with Cunard before, but we’re really pleased we chose the new ship for what is now our wedding and honeymoon.

What do you think makes a wedding at sea so special?

I think what makes a wedding at sea so special is its uniqueness, the beautiful setting of the ship. All the special little touches tailored to us. Just such a wonderful opportunity to get married in a way that will be really special for us both and one we'll never forget.
