In partnership with the Society of London Theatre

Established in 1908, the Society of London Theatre (SOLT) is an organisation that works with and on behalf of their members, to champion theatre and the performing arts. They deliver a range of services not only to assist members, but to promote theatregoing to the widest possible audience.

The Olivier Awards

We partnered with the SOLT in 2019, and since then our partnership has gone from strength to strength. Each year we have the honour of joining the prestigious Olivier Awards, an event that celebrates the world-status of London theatre. Here we present the ‘Best Revival’ award, which in the past has been won by A Streetcar Named Desire, Constellations, Summer and Smoke, and, most recently, Vanya, which will transfer to Broadway in 2025.

The Olivier Awards

Established in 1976, the Olivier Awards celebrate the world-class status of London theatre, shine a spotlight on the finest performances and productions and are Britain’s most prestigious stage honours.

The UK Theatre Awards

For the first time, in October 2024 we presented the Best New Play Award at SOLT’s UK Theatre Awards in London. The well-deserving winner of this award was the funny yet thought-provoking play Swim, Aunty, Swim written by Siana Bangura and produced by the Belgrade Theatre, in association with Tiata Fahozi.

On board our ships, we’re proud to partner with global theatre companies to bring exclusive Entertainment Residencies to the high seas and our guests. Together with SOLT, we have also proudly presented London Theatre at Sea, in partnership with the Olivier Awards Event Voyage, unveiling the very best London theatre has to offer on board Queen Mary 2.

Cunard is delighted to support the ‘Best Revival’ category at the Olivier Awards, that take place each April at the Royal Albert Hall, London. Established in 1976 by the Society of London Theatre, the Olivier Awards are London theatre's biggest and most prestigious night.
